The application for the ASTERIX 2026 Summer Research Experience for Teachers at Florida International University are now open!
One teacher will be selected to participate in the summer RET program at the ASTERIX Consortium. Participants will gain experience under the guidance of an established research group by investigating a topic from a broad spectrum of science and engineering disciplines.
Teachers will learn about cutting edge techniques and tools used in advanced sensors development and engineering, conduct a research study, and design curricular materials to use in their classroom.

Dates:
June 8th to July 31st, 2026.
Stipends:
A $8,000 USD stipend for participants who complete the program.
Research Topics:
Machine Learning, Deep learning, Generative AI, LLM, Cyber Security and Vision Models
Eligibility
To be eligible for the 2026 RET ASTERIX program you:
- Must be a U.S Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Must participate for the entire period (40 hours a week) of the program.
- Participants are required to attend all daily and weekly meetings, seminars, field trips and workshops.
